Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 September 2026. This policy describes exactly what CrimeTimeSnacks collects, why, and who else can see it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

If you only read the site or listen to episodes, we ask for nothing and store nothing about you.

We collect information in three situations, and only those three:

• You follow a case or subscribe to The Case File. We store your email address so we can send you what you asked for.
• You create an account. We store your email address, the handle you choose, and anything you choose to add to your profile: a display name and a short bio. If you sign in with Google we also receive your name and profile picture from Google.
• You save a case. We store which cases you follow, so we can tell you when something happens in them.

We do not collect your location, your browsing history, or anything about you from anywhere else. There are no analytics on this site, no advertising, and no tracking pixels.

• We never sell your information. There is no circumstance in which we would.
• We never share your email address with anyone except the services below that are required to deliver what you asked for.
• We never show your email address publicly. Your profile shows your handle, not your address.
• We never make the cases you follow public unless you switch that on yourself. It is off by default.

Running the site means a small number of companies handle your data on our behalf:

• Supabase stores the database: your email address, your account and the cases you follow.
• Resend sends the email you have asked for, and therefore receives your address.
• Vercel hosts the site and processes the network requests your browser makes.
• Google receives your sign-in request only if you choose to sign in with Google.

The site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and icons from Cloudflare. Those requests reveal your IP address to those companies, as they would on most of the web. We do not send them anything else.

We use cookies for one purpose: keeping you signed in. There are no advertising cookies and no analytics cookies, so there is no consent banner to dismiss.

We keep your information for as long as you have an account or a subscription, and no longer.

• Every email we send carries an unsubscribe link, and it works in one click.
• You can unfollow any case at any time from your account page.
• You can delete your account from your account page. That removes your account, your profile and every case you follow. It is immediate and it cannot be undone.
• If you would rather we did it, email crimetimesnacks@gmail.com and we will.

This site covers violent crime and is written for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your information, we will say so on this page and change the date at the top. Questions, corrections and deletion requests all go to crimetimesnacks@gmail.com.
